ABOUT THE TEAM
Jokers is our non-competitive kids cheerleading team! This team gives children the opportunity to try everything and see what cheer is all about before committing to a competitive team. Because of this class’s relaxed approach, children won’t be required to commit to every class. They can use these cheerleading lessons to improve skills, and target classes specifically to techniques they wish to improve on. This can help them build their confidence and work towards one of the competitive teams. It is also great for cheerleaders who are trying to figure out which aspects of cheer they have strengths within. In this team they can work out what position they are suited for and also if they enjoy tumbling.
WHO’S IT FOR?
Our Jokers team is aimed at kids who wish to partake non-competitively. They will still learn all the same techniques and prepare a routine for the Ultimate Cheer showcase to perform to their friends and family. This cheerleading team is amazing for anyone new to cheer or gymnastics and wants to get a broad overview of what cheerleading is.
The classes cover all skills including stunting, pyramids, jumps, dance, tumbling and performance.
WHAT’S THE TRAINING LIKE?
This team is structured differently from the others whereby children can work towards 3 different levels of skill set; white, red and black awards. Once they achieve the skills required to pass onto the next level they will be awarded the equivalent cheer bow! Once they have earned their white, red and black cheer bow they will be ready to join the competitive team.
Throughout the season this team will develop a routine which includes the best new skills they have mastered and they will perform this at the Ultimate Cheer showcase. This is where friends and family can come along to cheer on the kids and see all the amazing skills and cheerleading stunts they have developed. They will be blown away by the progress these kids make with team work and dedication.
WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE
The team love cheerleading and always have so much fun in their sessions. Without the rigidity of preparing for a competition, athletes are able to try out fun cheerleading stunts and attempt skills from different levels. This makes for very fun and relaxed sessions where the kids can play around with stunts and see what they are capable of.
