ABOUT THE CLASS

Ultimate Cheer offers an open gym session where athletes can come along to use the facilities and equipment we offer to train independently. This makes it easy to come and work on a specific skill you would like to improve on and really tailor the session to you.

 

WHO’S IT FOR?

Open gym is perfect for anyone who has an idea of what they want to work on and perfect. It’s great if you want to learn adult beginner gymnastics, children’s gymnastics or just practice and build upon gymnastics you can already do. This could be a specific stunt, stretch or tumble. It will give athletes an opportunity to focus on this in an unstructured and more relaxed setting. It is also great for anyone new to cheerleading who just wants to see what sessions will be like through a one off session.

 

WHAT’S THE TRAINING LIKE?

Open gym is booked as a stand alone session so you won’t be committing to a whole term of sessions. It is a great chance to get a taster of cheerleading and meet some of the athletes on the team. It can also be great to attend before tryouts to give you a chance to warm up any skills that might be a bit rusty. You can come with an idea of what skill you want to improve or with no idea at all. Coaches will be on hand to answer any questions you have and offer their support whether it be through knowledge or spotting you during a stunt. Our open gyms offer a fully sprung tumble track, air track, qualified coaches and other equipment.

Athletes can come as a stunt group or individually, they can also be grouped with people on arrival if necessary.

 

WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE?

The best part of our open gym is it’s associated with the Ultimate Cheer Full House Family. This means that you will be entering a sociable and friendly environment from the start. Open gyms by nature tend to allow you to show up alone and do your own thing but with Ultimate Cheer we will make sure you are in a group from the start! On arrival you’ll be introduced to the group and can also be paired with any athletes who are keen to work on similar skills. You’ll leave with new friends and eager to come back for tryouts.
